24 October, 2018 – Fasoula, Cyprus – Mr Ghazi Abu Nahl and his wife, Mrs Hind Ali Tabaja, attended the opening of the Art Nest sculpture museum created by Limassol-based artist, Filippos Yiapanis in Fasoula.

Numerous fellow artists were also in attendance, as well as the President of the Republic Mr Nicos Anastasiades who was lavish in his praise of the artwork, the artist and Mr. Abu Nahl.

Mr. Ghazi Abu Nahl is the Founder and Chairman of Nest Investments (Holdings) Ltd, which is a diversified international business group operating across more than 23 countries and headquartered in Cyprus. Mr Abu Nahl contributed to the construction of the gallery and was commended by President Anastasiades for his international philanthropic donations, and generous financial contribution to Fasoula.

Mr Abu Nahl’s donations to the gallery will be reflected in the name of the site, dubbed “Art Nest” and one of the rooms in the complex will also be named “Ghazi Abu Nahl” in honour of the business guru (pictured above). To explain his donation, Mr. Abu Nahl said:

“Through Art, we express love, we rediscover home, we find belonging. With Art, we speak a common language that mends divisions. To me, there are few investments more worthwhile.”

Mr and Mrs Abu Nahl, who are both Cypriot Nationals, were made members of the Chancellors Court of Benefactors at Oxford University last year having contributed to a new law faculty at the University specialising in Human rights; rights that are close to Mr Abu Nahl’s heart. At the gallery opening, Mr. Abu Nahl recalled the day he and his wife were inducted to the Oxford University Chancellor’s Court of Benefactors:

“As a former refugee, issues relating to education, the rule of law and principles of human rights are important to me. When I was invited to donate to the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, I gratefully accepted. The institute provides a facility for education, research and scholarship in human rights law and was opened by the late Kofi Annan. Our induction and recognition of our contribution was a very special day for my wife and I – as is today.”
